SK Ocean Plant joins Munmubaram partnership

SK Ocean Plant has signed a strategic partnership with floating wind developer Munmubaram to jointly develop floating offshore wind structures in South Korea.
The agreement was signed at the Korea-Sweden Sustainable Partnership Summit held in Seoul on 16 October, the company said.
Under the deal, the partners will collaborate on the Munmubaram floating offshore wind project, part of the Hexicon Group portfolio and one of the largest such developments in Korea.
The companies will cooperate on establishing a floating body production strategy and localising the supply chain through joint pre-FEED research.
The 750MW Munmubaram project is located about 65–80km east of Ulsan, an area noted for strong wind resources and favourable sea conditions.
An SK Ocean Plant official said the project is symbolic of the future of Korea’s offshore wind industry and added that the company aims to apply its experience and technology to ensure the project’s success.
