Vertex Search is partnering with a leading international renewable energy developer on a major cross-border power project supplying renewable electricity into Singapore.
We are looking for an experienced energy professional to take a key role across the development and commercialisation of the project. This is a broad position sitting at the intersection of power markets, regulation, stakeholder management, project development and offtake, with significant exposure to senior stakeholders across the Singapore energy market.
The Role
You will support the development and commercialisation of a major renewable power import project, working closely with government agencies, regulators, project partners, customers and internal technical and commercial teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead engagement with key Singapore government and regulatory stakeholders, including EMA and other relevant authorities.
- Manage permitting, licensing and regulatory workstreams associated with the development of the project.
- Coordinate across commercial, technical, legal and project teams to identify risks and keep key development activities progressing.
- Support the project’s offtake and commercialisation strategy, including the development of long-term PPAs with energy retailers, traders and large corporate customers.
- Identify and develop relationships with prospective power buyers and strategic commercial partners.
- Lead customer engagement and commercial discussions through contract negotiation and execution.
- Monitor Singapore power-market developments, customer demand, pricing and regulatory changes to inform commercial strategy.
- Support the development of competitive and bankable commercial structures for the project.
- Provide senior management with clear visibility across project progress, commercial opportunities, regulatory developments and key risks.
We are interested in speaking with candidates who bring a strong understanding of the Singapore electricity market combined with experience across one or more of the following areas:
- Renewable energy or power project development
- Electricity markets, trading or power-market strategy
- PPA, offtake or energy contract development
- Regulatory affairs and engagement with EMA
- Cross-border electricity or interconnector projects
- Commercial strategy within a power producer, utility or renewable energy developer
- Grid, market operations or major energy infrastructure
Direct PPA and developer experience would be highly relevant, but we are equally interested in candidates with strong Singapore power-market, regulatory or technical-commercial backgrounds who can demonstrate the ability to transition into broader commercial ownership.
You should be commercially minded, comfortable operating across complex stakeholder groups and capable of understanding the interaction between regulation, project development, customer requirements and project bankability.
