Pacifico secures 1.3GW Vietnam survey licence
Pacifico Energy Vietnam has secured a sea survey licence for the up to 1.3GW Nam Trung Bo 3 offshore wind project in Lam Dong Province, Vietnam.
The company said Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment approved the licence, enabling technical and environmental studies across the offshore area.
Pacifico Energy added that the project is identified in Vietnam’s Adjusted Power Development Plan VIII and is expected to achieve commercial operations between 2031–2035.
The licence will allow Pacifico Energy to evaluate the approved offshore area, establish the project’s design basis and prepare subsequent investment and permitting steps.
Preliminary desktop assessments and development of a detailed survey campaign will precede planned field activities across the approved offshore area in 2027.
The field programme will include geotechnical and geophysical surveys, wind measurement, meteorological and oceanographic studies, environmental baseline surveys and other technical assessments.
The approval follows a February 2026 sea survey licence for the 500MW Nam Bo PE2.1 offshore wind project in Ho Chi Minh City, with the two projects forming a 1.8GW offshore wind development pipeline for Pacifico Energy in Vietnam.
