Position Summary:
The Offshore Wind Contracts Manager is responsible for the negotiation, execution, and management of complex contracts throughout the lifecycle of offshore wind projects. This role ensures that contractual obligations are met, risks are managed, and commercial interests are protected from project development through construction and operation. The Contracts Manager collaborates closely with legal, procurement, technical, and project management teams, as well as external stakeholders, to deliver successful project outcomes in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, negotiate, and execute a variety of contracts and agreements, including EPC, EPCI, WTG supply, foundations, cables, T&I, O&M, and related service agreements for offshore wind projects.
- Lead negotiations with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers to secure favourable terms and mitigate contractual risks.
- Provide expert advice on contract execution, claims management, contract variations, amendments, and dispute resolution throughout all project phases.
- Ensure all contracts comply with legal, regulatory, and company policy requirements; maintain up-to-date contract documentation and records.
- Support the preparation of RFQs, tender documents, and commercial evaluations for major project packages.
- Collaborate with project management, procurement, legal, and technical teams to ensure alignment on contractual obligations, milestones, and deliverables.
- Monitor contract performance, manage change orders, and oversee the submission of notices, requests, and documentation within strict deadlines.
- Advise project teams on contractual risks, compliance issues, and deviations from contract requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned and best practices into future contracting strategies.
- Represent the company in stakeholder meetings, management presentations, and negotiations with international counterparties.
- Support the development and implementation of contracting strategies and policies for ongoing and future offshore wind projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5–10 years of contract management experience, with a strong track record in offshore wind, large-scale renewable energy, or infrastructure projects.
- Proven expertise in negotiating and managing complex contracts (e.g., FIDIC, BIMCO, EPC/EPCI) within the offshore wind sector.
- In-depth knowledge of contract law, risk management, and regulatory compliance relevant to offshore wind projects.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities; able to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken; additional language skills are an advantage.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
- Experience with contract management for major offshore wind project packages (e.g., WTG, foundations, cables, T&I, O&M).
- Familiarity with international contracting standards (e.g., BIMCO, LOGIK) and cross-border negotiations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
- High attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Willingness to travel for project meetings, site visits, and negotiations (up to 20% of working time).
