Job Title: Investment Associate / Senior Associate (Project Finance)

Location: Japan

Job Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain detailed project finance financial models from scratch, covering BESS and broader infrastructure asset transactions.
• Conduct investment analysis, return modelling, and scenario analysis to support deal origination, bid preparation, and capital deployment decisions.
• Prepare investment committee papers, presentations, and supporting materials for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the execution of project finance transactions, including working with banks, legal counsel, and technical advisors across the financing process.
• Monitor the financial performance of existing portfolio assets; track against base case assumptions and flag material variances.
• Assist with lender reporting, covenant tracking, and ongoing debt facility management across the portfolio.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support the platform’s expansion into new geographies and asset classes.
• Coordinate with legal, engineering, and operations teams to ensure financial models reflect current project assumptions and contract terms.
• Support the due diligence process for new acquisitions or partnerships, including financial and commercial analysis.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 to 6 years of experience in investment banking, Big 4 advisory, or a developer or infrastructure fund environment.
• Demonstrated ability to build project finance models from scratch with no reliance on pre-built templates.
• Strong proficiency in Excel-based financial modelling; familiarity with infrastructure and energy asset structures.
• Individual contributor mindset with strong ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a lean team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Desired Experience:

• Direct exposure to BESS, solar, wind, or broader renewable energy project finance transactions.
• Experience supporting financial close on project-financed infrastructure assets.
• Familiarity with Japanese or Asian energy markets and regulatory frameworks.
• Exposure to institutional investor reporting requirements and investment committee processes.
• Language skills in Japanese (N1/N2) and English are required.
