The Head of Renewable Energy (RE) Projects plays a pivotal role in driving the successful delivery of our renewable energy initiatives. This position combines strategic vision, technical expertise, commercial and business development sense, project development capability, and precise project management to create sustainable value for our organization. You will oversee projects from inception through development, construction and completion at the highest standards of quality, while ensuring seamless integration across regional project delivery teams and horizontally with Business Development, Engineering, Asset Management and other key stakeholders. This is a senior leadership position with multiple direct reports, so strong people leadership and team management experience is a must.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop a comprehensive project delivery plan based on target capacity
  • Establish consistent reporting mechanisms to provide visibility across the organization

Capability Building:

  • Design and implement training programs for project management and engineering disciplines
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development

Project Risk Management:

  • Create robust frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate potential project risks
  • Safeguard project delivery by anticipating challenges and implementing preventive measures

Standardization and Best Practices:

  • Develop and maintain standardized processes, templates, and guidelines for project management and engineering
  • Share best practices and lessons learned across the RE team

Project Execution Oversight:

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to schedule
  • Maintain project artifacts, track progress, and enforce compliance with established standards
  • Oversee construction-readiness and execution interfaces, including EPCC scope, schedule, cost, quality, HSE and contractor/partner coordination

Quality Assurance:

  • Uphold stringent quality standards for all project components
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices

Technical Expertise:

  • Provide guidance and technical insights during project development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize project design and implementation
  • Provide practical guidance on project development, constructability, EPCC contracting interfaces and renewable energy delivery requirements across regional markets

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive LCoE optimization and value engineering efforts
  • Seek opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency gains

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience across renewable energy business development, project development, construction and delivery, including strong understanding of EPCC models and interfaces
  • Proven experience managing large-scale renewable energy projects, ideally across various technologies (solar, wind, energy storage, hybrid projects, etc.), with regional exposure across APAC and/or ASEAN markets
  • Strong leadership skills, with proven experience managing multiple direct reports and inspiring/motivating project teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage diverse, multi-disciplinary and geographically distributed teams, while aligning multiple senior leaders, business owners, partners and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations
