Overview

A leading company in the renewable energy sector is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to take on the role of Head of M&A. This leadership position will play a critical role in driving the company’s strategic growth initiatives through mergers and acquisitions across the Asia-Pacific region. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, deep industry knowledge, and a passion for renewable energy investments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement M&A strategies aligned with the company’s corporate objectives and growth plans.
  • Identify, evaluate, and execute potential acquisition targets, including conducting comprehensive financial and operational due diligence.
  • Lead the negotiation process with target companies, ensuring favorable outcomes for the organization.
  • Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to assess the strategic fit of potential acquisitions.
  • Monitor market trends to identify potential risks and opportunities within the renewable energy sector.
  • Prepare and present detailed M&A proposals and reports to the executive team and stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with investment banks, advisory firms, and other relevant stakeholders in the M&A ecosystem.
  • Manage project timelines, ensuring timely execution of M&A transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements throughout the M&A process.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and networking events to promote M&A initiatives.

Essential Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven track record of successful M&A transactions within the renewable energy sector or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and corporate finance principles.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Desired Experience

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in M&A, investment banking, or corporate development.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Experience working in Asia-Pacific markets, with a strong understanding of local regulatory and business landscapes.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Japanese or other Asian languages is a plus.
