About the client
Our client is an international energy company with a growing renewables portfolio in Japan and across Asia.
The role
- Lead financial control across the group’s entities, covering accounting, tax, treasury and compliance.
- Run month-end close, budgets and reforecasts, and deliver consolidated reporting to management.
- Manage external accounting and audit providers so statutory filings and audits are completed on time.
- Monitor cash and intercompany funding, keeping it tax-efficient and compliant.
- Standardise finance processes and set up finance foundations for new projects as the portfolio grows.
- Report to senior finance leadership.
What you bring
- 10+ years in finance and accounting, including time at a Big 4 firm.
- Controller-level experience across multiple entities or countries.
- Hands-on group consolidation, ideally in SAP.
- Strong IFRS knowledge; exposure to local GAAP in Asia is useful.
- Advanced Excel; BI or reporting tools a plus.
- Degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
- Energy, infrastructure or project-based experience is an advantage.
Languages: Fluent English required. Business-level Japanese strongly preferred.
