Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) Manager to join our Korea team. The successful candidate will have proven expertise in renewable energy development and a strong understanding of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes.
This role requires a deep knowledge of international ESG standards and best practices, alongside Korean regulatory frameworks. The ESG Manager will be responsible for integrating ESG principles into project planning and execution, ensuring our offshore wind projects meet global and local benchmarks and contribute positively to sustainable development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead ESG strategy, planning, and project implementation for solar and wind projects in Korea
- Advise on EIA processes, regulatory requirements, stakeholder engagement, and reporting to ensure full compliance with Korean and international standards
- Develop and manage ESG risk assessments and mitigation plans across project lifecycles
- Prepare and deliver ESG training, capacity-building, and awareness programmes internally and externally
- Liaise with government agencies, international bodies, and local communities to ensure transparent and collaborative ESG management
- Monitor, evaluate, and report ESG performance, enabling continuous improvement and innovation
- Coordinate with international ESG teams to align on sustainability targets, certifications, and disclosures (TCFD, GRI, IFC PS, etc.)
- Support the preparation of ESG documentation for investors, partners, and regulatory bodies
Requirements
- Fluency in Korean and English (verbal & written)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in ESG, sustainability, or environmental roles in the energy sector, with a strong track record in offshore wind
- Hands-on experience with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes for renewable or infrastructure projects in Korea
- ESG professional accreditation/certifications (e.g., GARP SCR, CFA ESG, SASB FSA, or similar) preferred
- Familiarity with international ESG standards and frameworks (e.g., GRI, TCFD, IFC PS, UN SDGs)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Analytical thinker with excellent project management abilities
