Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our client’s dynamic team in Seoul, supporting major offshore wind projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract management for large-scale offshore construction, with a particular focus on radar/radio towers and offshore construction packages. This position will play a pivotal role in contract negotiation, administration, and execution, interfacing with legal, technical, and project management teams on complex, high-value international projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, review, negotiation, and administration of contracts for offshore wind construction packages, including those involving radar/radio towers, foundations, cables, and related infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with legal, technical, and project management teams to ensure contractual compliance and alignment with project objectives.
- Manage and interpret contractual provisions, ensuring all obligations, milestones, and deliverables are tracked and met.
- Draft, review, and maintain contract documentation in accordance with company and legal standards.
- Advise on and manage claims, change orders, and dispute resolution processes, providing strategic guidance to minimize risk.
- Support tender evaluations and contribute to the development of commercial solutions and anti-claims strategies.
- Liaise with international clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, leading negotiations and fostering effective working relationships.
- Ensure all contracts are executed in accordance with governance protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Provide input on contract standards (FIDIC, BIMCO, LOGIC, etc.) and ensure best practices in contract management are upheld.
- Stay updated on industry standards and regulatory developments, particularly those relevant to radar mitigation and offshore wind construction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in contract management for offshore wind, oil & gas, or major offshore construction projects, with demonstrable experience in offshore wind packages (foundations, cables, radar/radio towers, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of contract standards and forms relevant to offshore wind (FIDIC, BIMCO, LOGIC, IMCA, etc.).
- Proven experience in contract negotiation, administration, and claims management on large-scale, international projects.
- Familiarity with technical and commercial aspects of radar/radio tower installation and offshore construction methodologies.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English; Korean language skills are an advantage.
- Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Cultural awareness and ability to work effectively in a multinational team.
- Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
Desirable
- Experience working with or advising on radar mitigation strategies in offshore wind environments.
- Knowledge of local Korean regulatory frameworks for offshore construction and renewable energy projects.
