Synera Renewable Energy has awarded Taiwan-based Century Group contracts to supply turbine foundations for the 800MW Formosa 6 offshore wind farm.

Century will deliver 57 jackets and 180 pin piles for the project, which Synera said is not only Taiwan’s largest offshore wind farm by capacity but also the first and only Phase 3.2 project to reach this stage of development.

The developer described the deal as Taiwan’s largest offshore wind turbine foundation collaboration to date.

Synera said the partnership with Century marks a significant step in Taiwan’s offshore wind localisation efforts.

The company added that the contracts will support Formosa 6’s grid connection target and help meet green energy demand from Taiwan’s strategic industries.
