EEW Group expands South Korean Plant to boost offshore wind capacity

EEW Group is expanding its EEW KHPC manufacturing facility in Gwangyang, South Korea, to meet rising demand for offshore wind foundations across Southeast Asia.
“The development of the offshore wind industry in Southeast Asia will gain immense momentum over the next few years. With the expansion of EEW KHPC, we are responding early to growing market demands,” said the Managing Directors of EEW KHPC.
The project is planned to finish in the second half of 2027, the upgraded plant will be able to produce monopiles, pin piles, jacket components and legs up to 13 metres in diameter, weighing as much as 2,500 tons and measuring up to 120 metres in length.
The expansion will increase the site’s production capacity from approximately 60,000 tons a year to more than 200,000 tons of steel processed into LSAW pipes.
The project is expected to create 200 skilled jobs and strengthen the company’s position as a leading supplier of offshore wind foundations.
