Senior Commercial Manager – LNG & Gas-to-Power

The Opportunity:
Our client, an international energy group is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to support its LNG/Gas-to-Power growth strategy in India. This role will focus on business development, M&A, and project origination, particularly across power, gas, and LNG-related opportunities.
Working closely with senior leadership and regional/global teams, the successful candidate will help identify, evaluate, and execute value-accretive investments while expanding strategic networks across the Indian energy ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead business development initiatives including greenfield, brownfield, and M&A opportunities
- Evaluate and execute commercial structures for energy and infrastructure projects
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to manage risk and optimise deal execution
- Support contract strategy, structuring, and negotiations across complex projects
- Build and maintain relationships with government bodies, developers, financiers, and industry partners
- Represent the organisation at industry events and contribute market intelligence
Candidate Profile:
- 12-18 years’ experience in business development, project development, or M&A within the LNG, power and energy sector
- Strong understanding of Indian energy markets, regulation, and commercial project structures
- Proven experience working with utilities, energy infrastructure firms, advisory houses, banks, or investment funds
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable operating in dynamic, cross-cultural environments
- Fluency in English and Hindi required; exposure to international or foreign-affiliated organisations preferred
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree/Masters advantageous)
