Head of Development – Solar & BESS | South Korea
An international renewable energy developer is looking to appoint a Head of Development to lead its solar and BESS platform in South Korea.
This role will take ownership of the full project development lifecycle, from early-stage origination through to ready-to-build, and will play a key role in driving pipeline growth and execution across the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end development of solar and BESS projects from origination through to RTB
- Identify and secure new project opportunities, including site sourcing and land acquisition
- Oversee permitting and regulatory strategy in line with local requirements
- Manage stakeholder engagement including landowners, authorities, and grid operators
- Drive grid connection strategy and coordination
- Manage external consultants across development activities
- Define and execute development strategy to expand the project pipeline
- Work closely with investment, technical, and commercial teams to ensure projects meet timeline and return targets
Requirements
- Proven experience in solar and/or BESS project development
- Strong understanding of the South Korea renewables market, including permitting and grid processes
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects through the full development lifecycle
- Strong leadership and team management capability
- Experience working with cross-functional and international teams
- Business level English required
