Head of Risk and HSE (APAC and ANZ)
A leading renewable energy and energy infrastructure platform is seeking a Regional HSE Manager to play a pivotal leadership role across its Asia Pacific and Australia New Zealand portfolio. This is a senior regional position, effectively the second most senior HSE leader in the Group, with responsibility for shaping strategy and ensuring safe, consistent execution across all phases of the asset lifecycle.
The role will provide oversight across development, construction and operational assets spanning utility scale renewables, storage and related infrastructure. The remit covers APAC and ANZ.
This is a highly visible role working closely with regional leadership, project delivery teams and external partners to embed best-in-class HSE standards across a rapidly growing platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement regional HSE strategy aligned with Group policies and international best practice
- Provide governance, assurance and oversight across development, construction and operational activities
- Act as the senior HSE point of contact for APAC and ANZ projects and assets
- Support safe project delivery through active engagement with development, EPC and operations teams
- Drive consistent HSE management systems, processes, reporting and performance metrics across regions
- Conduct and oversee audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective action plans
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, JV partners and regulators
- Support capability building, training and a proactive safety culture across the organisation
- Provide clear escalation, advice and decision support to regional and Group leadership
Candidate Profile
- Senior HSE professional with extensive experience across renewable energy, power generation or major infrastructure projects
- Strong exposure to multi-country portfolios within APAC and or ANZ
- Proven experience covering development, construction and operational phases
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on execution levels
- Strong contractor and EPC interface experience
- Solid understanding of regional regulatory environments and international HSE standards
- Credible leader able to influence senior stakeholders and delivery teams
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, Kuala Lumpur with regional travel required
