Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CPA to join our team as Financial Controller. The successful candidate will lead the finance and accounting functions for our Philippines operations, ensuring full compliance with local tax laws (BIR), regulatory reporting (ERC, DOE, SEC), and international financial standards. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep knowledge of the local Philippine energy market, audit processes, and tax incentives relevant to energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Manage day-to-day finance operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and treasury.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
  • Oversee project accounting for energy assets, ensuring accurate tracking of CAPEX, OPEX, and asset depreciation.

Taxation & Regulatory Compliance

  • Serve as the primary liaison for local authorities, ensuring full compliance with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Local Government Units (LGUs).
  • Manage all tax filings and remittances (VAT, Withholding Tax, Income Tax, Documentary Stamp Tax) to prevent penalties.
  • Handle specific energy-sector reporting requirements for agencies such as the Department of Energy (DOE) and Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
  • Ensure proper documentation and utilisation of fiscal incentives (e.g., BOI/PEZA registration) applicable to renewable/energy projects.

Audit & Internal Controls

  • Lead the coordination of annual external audits, working closely with auditing firms to ensure timely completion and clean opinions.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor robust internal control policies to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
  • Conduct periodic internal reviews to ensure adherence to company policies and local regulations.

Strategic Planning & Analysis

  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, monitoring variance against actual performance.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to local and regional management regarding cash flow, cost control, and investment opportunities in the local energy market.
  • Manage relationships with local banks and financial institutions for treasury and funding requirements.

Requirements:

  • Must speak fluent Tagalog and English.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a valid PRC license.
  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a Managerial/Controller role.
  • Mandatory experience in the Energy, Power, or Infrastructure sector in the Philippines.
  • Deep knowledge of Philippine tax laws (BIR issuances), corporate compliance (SEC), and energy regulations (ERC/DOE).
  • Experience managing BOI (Board of Investments) or PEZA reporting and incentives is highly advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
