Electrical Engineering Manager

Job Description Summary

The role involves managing the following tasks related torenewable energy projects:

  • Conducting electrical engineering studies associated with project development.
  • Preparing RFPs, reviewing technical deliverables, and supporting contract negotiations for BOP electrical work.
  • Overseeing electrical design, reviewing construction methodologies, and evaluating costs for BOP electrical work.
  • Preparing RFPs (mechanical and electrical), reviewing OEM deliverables, and performing cost evaluations.
  • Leading technical discussions on specifications and design after turbine selection, including interface management, construction methodology reviews, and cost evaluations.
  • Establishing O&M plans and conducting cost evaluations for turbines and BOP electrical facilities, while providing support to the development team.
  • Driving cost reduction studies for electrical work.
  • Supporting project managers on technical and project execution matters.
  • Coordinating and communicating with internal teams (Tokyo) and the head office (Chicago).
  • Providing technical support for project financing activities.

Requirements

  • Work experience with renewable energy developers or electrical BOP contractors in electrical design and power plant construction.
  • Strong leadership skills and excellent problem-solving ability.

Preferred/Welcome

  • Experience in the development, construction, and O&M of renewable energy projects.
  • Experience in electrical engineering and related work for renewable projects.
  • Experience in negotiation of wind turbine procurement and O&M services.
  • Broad knowledge and skills to manage renewable energy projects beyond electrical engineering; master’s degree preferred.
  • Relevant qualifications such as Japanese Electrical Construction Management Engineer and/or Japanese Electrical Chief Engineer.
  • English proficiency (candidates without current proficiency are welcome if willing to improve; bilingual staff and support systems are available).
