Cadeler wins Formosa 4 installation contract

Cadeler has signed a firm contract with Synera Renewable Energy for the transportation and installation of 35 Siemens Gamesa 14MW turbines at the 495MW Formosa 4 offshore wind farm in Taiwan.
The work will be carried out by one of Cadeler’s new M-class wind turbine installation vessels, with operations due to start in March 2028 and lasting around 150 days.
Cadeler said the contract will deliver revenue of €70–80m.
The deal covers part of the work envisaged in a 2024 reservation agreement that secured two projects in the region. Discussions on the second remain ongoing.
Located 18–20km off Miaoli County, Formosa 4 will feature turbines installed in water depths of 57–64 metres across a 58km² site.
Mikkel Gleerup, chief executive of Cadeler, said: “This milestone project further anchors Cadeler’s strategic presence in the Asia-Pacific region. With an M-class vessel, we are bringing best-in-class technology to Taiwan’s shores, building a bridge between continents and the infrastructure for a cleaner tomorrow.”
Cadeler added that its Taipei office is supporting the expansion of its APAC pipeline, with two vessels already active in the region.
