Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the data centre to ensure optimal uptime and performance.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with company objectives.
- Lead a team of data centre staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers for hardware, software, and maintenance.
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures for data centre operations, including security protocols.
- Monitor data centre performance metrics to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Coordinate disaster recovery and business continuity planning efforts.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards related to data centre infrastructure.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of data centre processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and manage the operational budget for the data centre, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of data centre operations, including cooling, power distribution, and equipment management.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to think strategically and execute operational plans effectively.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.
- Proficient in data centre management tools and technologies.
Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in data centre operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Experience with cloud service providers and virtualized environments preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex projects.
- Solid understanding of network infrastructures and cybersecurity practices.
- Prior experience in budgeting and financial management within an operations context.
